Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer

BI-Group Engineering is looking for Instrumentation and Control Design Engineer

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate and work within a multidisciplinary project team, and provide I&C support to other departments.
  • Provide I&C support to start-up personnel.
  • Liaising between International suppliers and local design institute in terms of Instrumentation and Control.
  • Providing detailed weekly reports on the status of Instrument and Control Design schedule progress.
  • Developing and updating “Hold Register” relating to Instrumentation and Control
  • Communicate and work within a multidisciplinary project team, and provide I&C support to other departments.
  • Responsible to review the design and specification of all field instrumentation and DCS/PLC/SIS systems.
  • Perform constructability reviews relating to I+C on the project.
  • Provide responses to technical queries from the Client
  • Ensuring that all instruments are on ROK register
  • Assisting with procurement of instrument and control equipment.
  • Preview and critique of vendor designs
  • Coordination with other Engineering disciplines in terms of interface
  • Assisting with construction, completion & commissioning of plant.(Instrumentation and Control)

Academic / Professional Qualifications

  • Degree in Instrumentation and Control Engineering.


  • Minimum of 10 years post graduate experience
  • Minimum of 5 years  of experience as an instrumentation and control  design engineer .
  • TCO/NCOC/Siemens/ABB experience would be an added advantage.

Specific Skills / Personal Attributes

  • Very good knowledge of ROK  instrumentation design codes and International I+C engineering standards
  • Ability to work without close supervision in a high pressure environment
  • Systems orientated
  • AutoCad V2 (Expert user)
  • Fluent in English(spoken and written)
  • Experience with PLC or DCS control systems
  • Knowledge and experience in international designs and standards is a plus
  • Knowledge about instrumentation selection and configuration

Contract Detail

  •  Work cycle – 5/2 days based in Aktau initially to approximately June 2017, thereafter Tengiz(Site based ) on 28/28 day rotation.
